A sad farewell
We sadly report the deaths of Jean Furnivall and Godfrey Berry
Posted: 11 September 2017
We are very sad to report the death on July 9th 2017 of Jean Furnivall (1923-2017), Havergal Brian’s last surviving child. Chairman John Grimshaw provides an appreciation by of her life and her devotion to furthering the reputation of her father and his music in the latest edition of the HBS Newsletter.

We have also received the very sad news of the death of our Vice-President Godfrey Berry (1938-2017), who served as HBS Treasurer for many years and who continued to be keenly supportive of the work of the Havergal Brian Society. An appreciation of Godfrey by former Secretary and Chairman David J Brown appears in the latest edition of the HBS Newsletter.
