Cleopatra premiere UPDATE
Information related to the booking process for tonight's premiere of John Pickard’s orchestration of Havergal Brian’s The Vision of Cleopatra
Posted: 10 February 2016
Brian's Vision Of Cleopatra (after Cumberland) which currently only exists in vocal score, has been orchestrated by eminent British composer, Professor of Composition at Bristol University and HBS Archivist John Pickard. The first performance will take place at the Victoria Rooms in Bristol on Saturday, 12th March 2016, from 7.30pm. The work in the first half of the programme will be Beethoven's Mass in C.
The performers will be Eve Daniell (soprano), Rachael Cox (mezzo-soprano), Angharad Lyddon (alto), Jeffrey Lloyd-Roberts (tenor), Alexander Learmonth (bass), with the Bristol University Choral Society and Symphony Orchestra, conducted by John Pickard.
The performance details can be found at the University website (http://www.bris.ac.uk/arts/events/2016/march/-bristol-university-choral-society-and-symphony-orchestra.html). Tickets are now bookable on the Bristol University website: booking details for the concert may be found here - http://shop.bris.ac.uk/browse/department.asp?compid=1&modid=1&deptid=238.
Professor Pickard recommends obtaining balcony seats for the best sound balance.
